Welcome

Welcome to my website. My work both old and new is displayed on this site. Please feel free to browse through it. If you are interested in seeing the works in the flesh or in purchasing a piece, please contact me using the above button. I can always tell you more about the quilt and send additional photos.
My professional life was primarily as an engineer in the international oil and gas industry. I worked in the UK, Nigeria and Australia – where I eventually settled in 1996.
Creativity has always been a constant throughout my life. As a child I made clothes for my dolls and myself and even made rag dolls with a friend that were sold for charity in the well-known London store, Heals.
I made my first quilt for my bed in 1976 and, in doing so, discovered a lasting passion for patchwork and quilting. While my career left little time to pursue this interest, everything changed after my retirement in 2002. I founded Quirky Quilts, creating and selling custom-designed and ready-made quilts both online and at markets. Over the years, I have made and sold hundreds of pieces, developing my skills while sustaining my love of fabric and design. I have since closed this business to focus fully on my artistic practice.
My involvement in the quilting community has been an important part of my journey. I am an active member of the West Australian Quilters Association https://www.waquilters.com/ and in particular its Contemporary Quilting Group https://contemporarywa.wordpress.com/. I assist in the running of this group and with a colleague convened two successive stitched and bound exhibitions https://stitchedandbound.com/ . I was proud that we toured these exhibitions around many art galleries in the vast state of Western Australia – bringing contemporary quilt art to a wider audience beyond Perth. I now am also a member of the Modern Quilt Guild https://www.themodernquiltguild.com
Over the past decade, my focus has shifted toward art quilts. I regularly exhibit throughout Australia in juried exhibitions and quilt shows, where my work has received awards and recognition. Workshops and continued exploration have helped me refine my practice and develop a distinctive style characterised by bold colour and strong visual impact.
I live and work in Perth, Western Australia, where I maintain my studio. I enjoy sharing my work with visitors and am currently preparing new pieces for an upcoming solo exhibition. So if you want to pop in just contact me.
